PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell device that improves ignitability to an off-gas in a combustion part.SOLUTION: The fuel cell device includes: a fuel battery cell aggregate 12 formed from an array of a plurality of fuel battery cell units 16; oxidant gas supply means (45) for supplying an oxidant gas to the outside of the fuel battery cell units; a combustion chamber 18 which is located above the fuel battery cell aggregate 12 and in which a fuel gas flowing out of an upper end of the fuel battery cell unit 16 and the oxidant gas supplied by the oxidant gas supply means are combusted; and an ignition device for igniting a mixed gas of the fuel gas and the oxidant gas in the combustion chamber 18. Only in the vicinity just under an ignition rod 83b of the ignition device 83, an oxidant gas shield plate 100 is disposed for blocking a flow of the oxidant gas supplied from the oxidant gas supply means to the combustion chamber 18, and the shield plate 100 is held in the state where upper ends of a plurality of fuel battery cell units 16a-16d penetrate the shield plate.
