Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the performance of a catalytic combustor without installing a different fan from a fan for sending air to a fuel cell main body by improving the design of a fuel cell having the catalytic combustor for treating unreacted fuel gas exhausted from the fuel cell main body.
SOLUTION: A catalytic combustor 10 is installed in a front space 36. Air taken in from the outside with an air supply fan and sent in the front space 36 is distributed into an opening part 37a and an opening part 37b. The air passed through the opening part 37a is introduced into the catalytic combustor 10, mixed with non-reacted hydrogen supplied from a hydrogen supply nozzle 12, passed through a catalyst layer 13, and high temperature combustion gas is exhausted from the lower surface. The combustion air exhausted from the catalytic combustor 10 is joined with air passed through the opening part 37b, then flows into a fuel cell main body 2.
