To improve impedance measurement performance of a fuel cell in a fuel cell system which has a polyphase voltage convertor.
The fuel cell system includes the fuel cell, the polyphase voltage converter having N phases (N is an integer of two or more) and connected with the fuel cell, a control signal generation part for generating control signals to control each phase of the polyphase voltage converter by superimposing a control waveform for measuring impedance on voltage indicating output target voltage of the polyphase voltage converter and outputting the control signals of N phases to the polyphase voltage converter in sequence at a predetermined phase difference, and an impedance calculation part for measuring current and voltage of the fuel cell at a cycle corresponding to N-pieces of designated sampling frequencies having the same phase difference with the predetermined phase difference and calculating impedance of the fuel cell by using the measured current and voltage.
