Abstract:

PURPOSE: To have good flow and distribution of fuel gas and enhance the power generation performance by forming a gas passage leading from a gas supply manifold to an exhaust manifold, and allowing the gas passage portion on the oxygen electrode side and the gas passage portion on the fuel electrode side to intersect perpendicularly on the manifold side.

CONSTITUTION: A gas passage 12 leading from a manifold 8 to another 10 is formed from a groove 12a and a flextural groove 12b which concentrates on the manifolds 8, 10 at the end parts, and such an arrangement is achieved that the air A on the oxygen electrode 2 side and the fuel gas F on the fuel electrode 3 side become parallel streams in the central part, but become perpendicularly intersecting streams at the end parts near the manifolds. The air A supplied to the oxygen electrode 2 is led from an air supply manifold 7 to a gas passage 11, and the oxygen is decreased by reaction made during passing through this gas passage 11. The air is concentrated on an air exhaust manifold 9 and exhausted therefrom 9. Meantime the oxygen ions produced by reaction from the air, which is reached the electrolyte plate 1 upon passing through the oxygen electrode 2 of porous structure, will reach the fuel electrode 3 upon passing through the electrolyte plate 1.
