Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of producing hydrogen if electric power and water are available. SOLUTION: This fuel cell 1 is provided with a hybrid stack 2 having a water electrolyzing function. The hybrid stack 2 has a power generating part 4 formed by laminating more than one power generating cells 3, a water electrolyzing part 6 formed by laminating more than one power generating cells 3 and bringing its one end surface face to face with the one end surface of the power generating part 4 so as to make its water electrolyzing cell 5 parallel with the power generating cell 3, first and second end plates 9, 10 made to abut on other respective ends of the power generating part 4 and the water electrolyzing part 6, and more than one screw members 11 to fasten the power generating part 4 and the water electrolyzing part 6 through both first and second end plates 9, 10.
