Abstract:
To provide a fuel cell having improved output performance.
The fuel cell includes a cathode 6 containing a cathode catalyst layer 12, an anode 5 containing an anode catalyst layer 8 and an anode diffusion layer 11, and an electrolyte membrane 7 arranged between the cathode catalyst layer 12 and the anode catalyst layer 8, and the anode 5 furthermore includes a hydrophilic layer 9 laminated on the surface on the opposite side to the surface facing the electrolyte membrane 7 of the anode catalyst layer 8, and a conductive porous layer 10 arranged between the hydrophilic layer 9 and the anode diffusion layer 11, and having water repellency higher than that of the anode diffusion layer 11.
