Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell by which a desired heat insulation effect can be enjoyed.SOLUTION: A fuel cell 1 includes: a cell stack 11 for introducing fuel gas containing hydrogen and oxidant gas containing oxygen and performing power generation; a storage container 20 for storing at least the cell stack 11; a side face heat insulating material 31 formed so as to cover a whole side face 21; a side face plate-like member 41 for pressing the side face heat insulating material 31 to the side face 21 in a state where the thickness of the side face heating insulating material 31 is maintained at a predetermined thickness; and a side face fastening mechanism 51 for applying mutually attracting force in an outer peripheral direction to the side face plate-like member 41. Since the mutually attracting force in the outer peripheral direction is applied to the side face plate-like member 41 by the side face fastening mechanism 51, the side face heat insulating material 31 is fastened to the side face plate-like member 41 and stuck in close to the storage container 20, so that a desired heat insulation effect can be enjoyed.
