Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery which enables the increase in adhesion degree by putting a load uniformly on a whole face of an electrode.SOLUTION: A fuel battery comprises: a plurality of cells 10 stacked on one another through a separator 21, provided that each cell has a solid polymer electrolyte film 11, and a fuel electrode 13 and an oxidation electrode 17 which are disposed on both sides of the solid polymer electrolyte film, and which each have a catalyst layer 14, 18 and a gas diffusion layer 15, 19; a pair of collector plates 40, 40 arranged outside the plurality of cells thus stacked; a pair of dielectric plates 50, 50 disposed outside the pair of collector plates; a pair of end plates 60, 60 disposed outside the pair of dielectric plates; and fastening means for fastening the pair of end plates. The pair of collector plates are convexly formed so that a part of the collector plate in a range where each gas diffusion layer of the fuel electrode and oxidation electrode is opposed to the collector plate becomes thicker than a part of the collector plate in a range where each gas diffusion layer of the fuel electrode and oxidation electrode is not opposed to the collector plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
