Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell that can inhibit formation of cracks in an air electrode.SOLUTION: A fuel cell 10 has a fuel electrode 20, an air electrode 50, and a solid electrolyte layer 30 disposed between the fuel electrode 20 and the air electrode 50. The air electrode 50 contains as a main component a perovskite oxide which is expressed by the general formula ABOand includes at least Sr at the A sites. The air electrode 50 has a surface region 51 which is within 5 μm from a surface opposite the solid electrolyte layer 30, and an inner region 52 which is formed on the solid electrolyte layer 30 side of the surface region 51. The surface region 51 and the inner region 52 respectively include a main phase configured by the perovskite oxide which is expressed by the general formula ABOand includes at least Sr at the A sites, and a secondary phase configured by strontium sulfate. An occupied surface area ratio of the secondary phase in a cross section of the surface region 51 is greater than an occupied surface area ratio of the secondary phase in a cross section of the inner region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
