Abstract:
To provide an ionic conductor exhibiting high ionic conductivity and to provide an electrochemical cell and a fuel cell to each of which the ionic conductor is applied.
The ionic conductor comprises a cationic component and a polar substance. The cationic component contains an onium cation having a monovalent substituent directly bonded to the central atom. The monovalent substituent is represented by general formula (1) [wherein R1is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom. or an unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbon group; and Z1is an oxygen atom (O), a sulfur atom (S), an NR2group (wherein R2is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or an unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbon group) or a PR3group (wherein R3is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or an unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbon group)].
