Abstract:

To provide a fuel cell and an electrode wherein deterioration of the fuel electrode or the oxygen electrode can be suppressed, and to provide electronic equipment using this.

At least at one of a catalyst layer 11 of the fuel electrode 10 or the catalyst layer 21 of the oxygen electrode 20, functional layers 51, 52 composed of, for example, porous body or ion conductor are installed. In the functional layer 51 of the fuel electrode 10, deterioration such as cracks or holes of the fuel electrode 10 caused by direct contact of the catalyst layer 11 with an electrolytic liquid F1 is suppressed, and fuel cross-over is decreased so that discharging of carbon dioxide (CO2) generated by reaction in the fuel electrode 10 into the electrolytic liquid F1 as bubbles is suppressed. As for the functional layer 52 of the oxygen electrode 20, the deterioration such as cracks or holes of the oxygen electrode 20 caused by direct contact of the catalyst layer 21 with the electrolytic liquid F1 is suppressed, and an overvoltage in the oxygen electrode 20 caused by fuel cross-over is prevented so that flooding of the oxygen electrode 20 is suppressed.
