To perform feedback control of a fuel injection rate in a cylinder in a manner to match with a target rate.
A fuel control system 200 to control the fuel injection rate of an internal combustion engine comprises a fuel - current table 202; a lead compensation device 204; an adder 206; a proportional integrated controller 208: an adder 210; a current control 212; a trouble compensation switch 214; a pressure - fuel table 216; an adder 218; and a pressure regulation 220. A fuel control system 200 receives a fuel command signal 226 as a desired fuel flow rate from an electronic control module 222 and is connected such that feedback control of an internal combustion engine 224 is provided. The fuel control system 200 effects no control such that converts the fuel flow rate into a pressure to obtain the pressure but directly uses a desired fuel flow rate as an object to be controlled.
