To reliably suppress the temperature of a fuel fed to an accumulating fuel injection device down to a predeterined temperature or below by effectively cooling the fuel, and reduce a drive power for cooling the fuel.
This fuel feed device 3 of a fuel injection system which includes a feed pump 4 and high-pressure pumps 5 feeds the fuel to the accumulating fuel injection device 6 having a common rail 7 and an injector 8. In the fuel feed device, a plurality of high-pressure pumps 5a, 5b, 5c are installed between the feed pump 4 and the common rail 7. The high-pressure pumps 5a, 5b, 5c are connected in series to each other through fuel cooling devices 15a, 15b, 15c, 15d disposed at the front sides and rear sides of the high-pressure pumps 5a, 5b, 5c respectively, interposed therebetween.
