To completely discharge bubbles out of a common rail in a short time.
A release pipe is connected with the common rail between a fuel pump and a fuel injection valve through a release control valve of which the opening/closing can be controlled. A fuel temperature lowering speed (a thick line A) at the common rail part around the release control valve after an engine is stopped become smaller than a fuel temperature lowering speed (a thick line B) at the other common rail parts. As a result, fuel pressure at the common rail part around the release control valve reaches saturation vapor pressure S (a point Ya) of the fuel, and the fuel pressure at the other common rail parts does not reach the saturation vapor pressure S at this time. Therefore, bubbles which are made by fuel saturation are generated inside the common rail parts around the release control valve. At the time of starting the engine, the release control valve is temporarily opened, and the bubbles inside the common rail parts around the release control valve are discharged to the outside of the common rail through the release pipe.
