Abstract:
PURPOSE: To control the flow rate and size of bubbles contained in fuel by arranging a filter which suppresses forming of bubbles and thereby its bad influence.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel filter assembly 10 employs a base 12 which mounts a disposable filter cartridge 14. A pair of axially extending ducts 24, 26 arranged on the base connect the base 12 to the cartridge 14 in a fluid manner. At least one buffle arranged on the outer surface of a duct 72 therein or inside the cartridge 14 forms a flow passage passing through the cartridge 14. An orifice 120 formed on the duct 72 provides an air port for controlling the size and amount of bubbles in the filtered fuel.
