To provide a fuel filter material in which there is no fear that a fiber drops out of the fuel filter material even after the fuel filter material is used for a long period of time and which can be easily fabricated into a bag like a normal woven fabric by dispensing with a post-stage to join a plurality of layers different in density from one another.
A multilayer woven fabric constituting the filter material 11 is woven so that three-layer weaves 12a-12c are joined to one another by binding threads 13a, 13b and are composed of plain weaves of warp threads 14a-14c and weft threads 15a-15c respectively. Namely, the adjacent two-layer weaves 12a and 12b or 12b and 12c of the three-layer weaves 12a-12c are joined to each other by the binding thread 13a or 13b, respectively. The weaves 12a-12c are formed so that the weave 12a arranged on one side of the multilayer woven fabric in the thickness direction has the lowest fabric density, the weave 12b arranged in the center has mean fabric density, and the weave structure 12c arranged on the other side of the multilayer woven fabric in the thickness direction has the highest fabric density.
