Abstract:

To suppress increase in temperature near an injection hole of an injector for cylinder injection so as to suppress generation of deposit near the injection hole.

An ECU 15 performs main fuel injection for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber 10 by an injector 11 at an intake stroke or a compression stroke, determines whether sub fuel injection is performed, and performs the sub fuel injection when the sub fuel injection can be performed. The ECU 15 estimates ignition timing where a flame front 14 generated by ignition and combustion after the main fuel injection reaches the vicinity of the injection hole of the injector 11, based on the ignition timing after the main fuel injection. The sub fuel injection is then performed before the estimated arrival time of the flame.
