Abstract:
To reduce an amount of NOx emission.SOLUTION: A fuel injection control device for an engine 1 includes a swirl generating part (swirl control valve 56), a fuel injection part with multi-injection holes (injector 6), an ignition part (ignition plug 25) and a control unit (ECU10). The fuel injection part forms a mixture that is leaner than a theoretical air fuel ratio, part of the mixture starts combustion accompanied by flame propagation with the ignition by the ignition part and the rest unburned mixture burns with self-ignition. A swirl flow causes first fuel spray discharged from a first injection hole of the fuel injection part and second fuel spray discharged from a second injection hole to retreat from each other. The fuel injection part executes first fuel injection and second fuel injection sequentially in an intake stroke. When the engine is subjected to high load, the control unit increases a ratio of a fuel injection amount in the second fuel injection to the total required fuel amount per cycle more than that when the engine is subjected to low load.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
