Abstract:
To reduce an amount of NOx emission.SOLUTION: A fuel injection control device for an engine 1 includes a swirl generating part (swirl control valve 56), a fuel injection part with multi-injection holes (injector 6), an ignition part (ignition plug 25) and a control unit (ECU10). The fuel injection part forms a mixture that is leaner than a theoretical air fuel ratio, part of the mixture starts combustion accompanied by flame propagation with the ignition by the ignition part and the rest unburned mixture burns with self-ignition. A swirl flow causes first fuel spray discharged from a first injection hole of the fuel injection part and second fuel spray discharged from a second injection hole to retreat from each other. The fuel injection part receives a control signal and executes first fuel injection and second fuel injection sequentially in an intake stroke. The control unit increases a fuel injection amount in the second fuel injection more than a fuel injection amount in the first fuel injection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
