To provide a fuel injection control device for an internal combustion engine which has a simple control structure and can prevent entering a state where a control target value of a fuel injection quantity of an in-cylinder injection valve is restricted by a minimum injection quantity.
The device executes drive control of the in-cylinder injection valve while restricting so that the target in-cylinder injection quantity will not smaller than the minimum injection quantity. The device executes fuel injection only by a passage fuel injection valve in a first execution region defined in a low load operation region of the internal combustion engine, and meanwhile, executes fuel injection by the in-cylinder injection valve in a second execution region defined in an operation region on a high load side than the first execution region. In a case where an engine parameter other than the target in-cylinder injection quantity is a value indicating a possibility that the target in-cylinder injection quantity is restricted by the minimum injection quantity when assuming that fuel injection will be executed by the in-cylinder injection valve in the second execution region, the device compares the value with a boundary (solid line) between the first execution region and the second execution region in the otherwise case, and changes the boundary to a value (alternate long and short dash line) on the high load side.
