Abstract:

To properly control fuel injection in a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine using gaseous fuel and liquid fuel by switching them, even though an injection pressure is higher than a set pressure.

A fuel injection system includes: a first injection valve 21 for injecting gaseous fuel; a pressure regulating valve 60 for regulating a pressure of the gaseous fuel supplied to the first injection valve 21 to reduce the pressure to a predetermined set pressure; and a tank main stop valve 44 and a cut-off valve 45 provided upstream the pressure regulating valve 60. When a supply pressure to the first injection valve 21 exceeds a determination value K1, a control unit 80 closes cut-off control valves (44 and 45) and performs switching from gaseous fuel injection by the first injection valve 21 to liquid fuel injection by a second injection valve 22 according to an engine load.
