To supply gaseous fuel having a suitable pressure at a start of an internal combustion engine to a fuel injection means in a fuel injection system of the internal combustion engine using the gaseous fuel.
A fuel injection system includes: a first injection valve 21 for injecting gaseous fuel; a pressure regulating valve 60 for regulating a pressure of the gaseous fuel supplied to the first injection valve 21 to reduce the pressure to a predetermined set pressure; and a tank main stop valve 44 and a cut-off valve 45 provided upstream the pressure regulating valve 60. When a start of an engine 10 using the gaseous fuel is requested, a control unit 80 controls valve opening timing of the tank main stop valve 44 and the cut-off valve 45 to start request timing of the engine 10 according to a pre-start pressure which is a pressure of the gaseous fuel supplied to the first injection valve 21 at the request.
