Abstract:
A fuel injection control system of an internal combustion engine which calculates the correction value for the fuel injection quantity of the second pilot injection, so as to cancel out the influence of pressure fluctuation in a fuel injection valve generated by the first pilot injection. The system sets the suitable range (L1-L2) of a pilot interval, so as to prevent that the pilot interval is excessively changed to influence on the combustion state of the engine. If the candidate value as the correction value for the second pilot injection quantity to cancel out the influence of the pressure fluctuation departs from the suitable range, the system adopts the forward limit L1 or backward limit L2 of the suitable range as the suitable value of the ending time of the pilot injection and reflects the difference between the candidate value and the limit value on the third fuel injection quantity.
