Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain favorable starting ability in starting an engine by accurately grasping fuel leakage ratios even if there are differences among the leakage ratios of fuel injection nozzles.

CONSTITUTION: The fuel forcibly sent from a fuel injection pump is supplied to fuel injection nozzles 4A to 4D through a delivery pipe 5. A fuel pressure sensor 29 is provided in the middle of the delivery pipe 5 to detect fuel pressure. Based on the signals sent from the fuel pressure sensor 29 and other things, the fuel injection nozzles 4A to 4D and other things are controlled by an ECU 40. That is, when starting an engine 1, soak time and fuel pressure are detected, maps corresponding to these values are referred by the ECU 40, and correction quantity is calculated. A value obtained by reducing the correction quantity from basic fuel quantity in starting is set as an objective injection quantity. Therefore, even if there are differences in the leakage ratios among the fuel injection nozzles 4A to 4D, fuel the leakage ratios are accurately grasped, fuel injection quantity when starting the engine becomes proper according to fuel leakage conditions for soak time.
