Title:
FUEL INJECTION DEVICE FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3760572
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an initial fuel injection completely by forming a valve means for closing a back pressure passage for leading fuel supply pressure, which is formed at a back pressure chamber expanded or contracted according to the expansion or contraction of a magnetostrictive actuator as fuel supply pressure rises, at the back pressure passage.
SOLUTION: At the time of engine stopping, a piezo-actuator 10 contracts, so that the pressure of a fuel pressure chamber 3 and a back pressure chamber 8 drops and a needle valve 2 closes a nozzle hole 1a with a return spring 4. A spool valve 30 opens a back pressure passage 32 with the return spring. When a fuel pump is driven to start an engine, pump delivery pressure is led to the back pressure chamber 8 immediately, however, the pressure rise of the fuel pressure chamber 3 is delayed by the pressure rise of the back pressure chamber 8 through a second restriction passage 39, so that the needle valve 2 is forced in the valve-closing direction by the pressure difference between the fuel pressure chamber 3 and the back pressure chamber 8. It is thus possible to prevent an initial injection symptom that the needle valve 2 opens and fuel is injected before the engine starts.
