Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make an engine compact by providing a fuel injection valve and an air injection valve in parallel at one side of an imaginary plane crossing almost square to the axial center near the top surface of a cylinder, making both injection nozzles at the same position, and making one side axis center of the injection valves parallel to the imaginary plane while the other side axis center inclining to the imaginary plane.

CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection valve 21 and an air injection valve 26 are provided in parallel near the top surface of a cylinder 2 and along an imaginary plane 40 almost square to the axial center 2a, and at one side of the axial center 2a. And the fuel injection nozzle 21a of the fuel injection valve 21, and the air injection nozzle 26a of the air injection valve 26 are positioned almost at the same position in the axial direction of the cylinder 2. The connections of a fuel passage 22 and an air passage 27 to the injection chamber 19, that is, the positions of both injections to the injection chamber 19 are close each other, and the injection chamber 19 can be made shorter accordingly. Furthermore, the air injection valve 26 of the both injection valves is almost parallel to the imaginary plane, while the fuel injection valve 21 is inclined thereto, and thereby, the linear pipings of delivery pipes 23 and 28 can be made to prevent the mutual interference.
