PURPOSE: To enable precise control of an air-fuel ratio, by a method wherein an air pressure is exerted at a given timing on a weighing chamber, mounted to a fuel feed system, and is fed to an engine, and a high pressure air amount is controlled so that an air-fuel ratio is regulated to a theoretical value.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection device 31 is formed such that a pressurizing means 33, feeding high pressure air in an accumulator 54 pressurized with the aid of an air pump 51 to a metering unit 32, is connected to an injection nozzle 34, injecting fuel from a fuel pump 24 and a regulator 26 to a spot down a line from a swirl control valve 16 located in a passage 15b on the secondary side of an intake air passage 8. A control unit 28 computes a fundamental fuel injection amount based on the number of revolutions, an intake air amount, etc., and regulates fuel, stored in a weighing chamber 36, through a regulating body 40. Further, based on a detecting value from an oxygen sensor 27, a high pressure air amount is controlled by means of an air control valve 48 in response to a deviation between an air-fuel and a target value.
