PURPOSE: To prevent wear of a face cam and roller and their seizure by installing a seal at the periphery of a drive shaft between a feed pump and a cam chamber, and furnishing a leak fuel collecting groove leading to the fuel low-pressure side at the periphery of a plunger between a plunger chamber and the cam chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Engagement of a face cam 22 with a roller is made in lubricant L, which fills a cam chamber 4, and the fuel discharged by a feed pump 8 passes through a fuel supply path to reach a plunger chamber 21. The fuel in the feed pump 8 is isolated from the lubricant L in the cam chamber 4 by a seal 16, while the fuel in the plunger chamber 21 is isolated from the lubricant L in the cam chamber 4 by a leak duel collecting groove 29. This prevents wear of the face cam 22 and roller and their seizure.
