To provide a common-rail type fuel injection system capable of preventing more than necessary increase in common rail pressure, when detecting pump pressure feeding failure caused by mixing of a large amount of air into inside of a cylinder of a supply pump before running out of gas.
When it is determined that pump control failure (fail 2) such as the pump pressure feeding failure caused by mixing of a large amount of air into inside of the cylinder of the supply pump before gas is run out of, etc. is generated, update of integral compensation amount (integral update amount: DI) for using calculation of feedback correction amount is stopped, and the previous integral term is held and maintained. This can prevent fuel pressure overshoot, which is attributed to excessive learning of the integral compensation amount at the time of pump pressure feeding failure caused by mixing of a large amount of air into the cylinder of the supply pump before gas is run out of, etc. and in which actual fuel pressure becomes higher than target fuel pressure. Accordingly, deterioration of controllability of the common rail pressure can be securely prevented.
