Abstract:

To save electric power consumption of a battery and effectively reduce unburned composition in exhaust gas at a time of start of an internal combustion engine.

In a fuel injection device of an internal combustion engine provided with a fuel injection valve 20 injecting liquid fuel into an intake air system of the internal combustion engine, a fuel pump 70 supplying liquid fuel to the fuel injection valve, and a heater 10 heating liquid fuel with using a battery as a power source, a control means 40 controlling time of electricity carry to the heater according to exhaust gas temperature 90 of the internal combustion engine. In an embodiment, when exhaust gas temperature is activation temperature of an exhaust emission control catalyst or higher, time of electricity carry to the heater can be shortened since unburned composition in exhaust gas is eliminated, when exhaust gas temperature is lower than activation temperature of the exhaust emission control catalyst, time of electricity carry to the heater is shortened instead of extending the same, fuel pressure is made high and fuel injected from the fuel injection valve is atomized to suppress emission of unburned composition.
