PURPOSE: To improve the fuel atomizing performance at the time of resuming fuel feeding in the present device which alternately injects compressed air and fuel out of a nozzle port placed in a combustion chamber by prohibiting the injection of the compressed air after feeding fuel into a compressed air passage at the time of cutting off fuel.
CONSTITUTION: In an air blast valve 20 in which a nozzle port 24 which is placed in a combustion chamber 4 is formed on the end of a needle inserting port 22, the opening/closing of the nozzle port 24 is carried out by the valve portion 25 on the end portion of a needle 23, which is moved when a solenoid 30 is excited to open the nozzle port 24. A nozzle chamber 32 is formed in the housing 21 of the air blast valve 20 and a compressed air flow-in passage 33 is connected to one end thereof while opening the injecting port 37 of a fuel injection valve 36 in the nozzle chamber 32. In such a fuel injection device, at the time of cutting off fuel, fuel injection is carried out for only once to hold fuel in a compressed air flow-out passage 35 and the needle inserting port 22, thereby keeping same in standby for the resumption of fuel feeding.
