To provide a fuel injection device, capable of accurately controlling the fuel-feeding quantity, independently of the operating conditions of an internal combustion engine.
This fuel injection device carries out suction, pressurization and force-feeding of the fuel inside a pressurization chamber 44 with the reciprocating motion of a plunger 41, and controls the fuel pressure-feed quantity from the pressure chamber 44 by overflowing the high-pressure fuel inside of the pressure chamber 44 with a solenoid spill valve 7 during the force-feeding process of the plunger 41, and injects the fuel to each cylinder of the internal combustion engine. The solenoid spill valve 7 is still communicated with the pressure chamber 44 after concluding the force-feeding to the cylinder performed immediately prior to, and controls the quantity of the fuel to be supplied to the pressure chamber 44 during the suction process. With this structure, the fuel inside the pressure chamber 44 when starting pressurization and pressure- feeding in the pressure-feeding process can be controlled stably, to accurately control the pressure-feed quantity of the fuel.
