To provide a fuel injection device capable of performing atomization of fuel and fuel injection with different penetration force in accordance with an operation state of an engine.
The fuel injection device 1 is provided with a fuel injection valve 2 for injecting the fuel into a cylinder of the engine 100, and a common rail 3 for supplying high pressure fuel to the fuel injection valve 2. The common rail 3 is equipped with a common rail pressure sensor 3a for measuring a common rail pressure PCR. A return pipe 6 forming a return passage through which return fuel flows is connected to the respective fuel injection valves 2, and a pressure sensor 7 is attached to the return pipe 6. A pressure adjustment valve 8 and a check valve 9 are attached on the downstream side of the pressure sensor 7 of the return pipe 6 in the order. The pressure adjustment valve 8 adjusts a pressure in the return pipe 6 by adjusting an opening thereof, and adjusts a back pressure of the fuel injection valve 2. The back pressure of the fuel injection valve 2 is adjusted, and the penetration force is adjusted.
