PURPOSE: To provide a fuel injection device of a specific rotation distribution type for supplying fuel to a compression ignition engine.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection device of a rotation distribution type includes a fluid pressure operation relief valve member 43 operated to terminate the supply of fuel passed from a hole 14 housing an injection plunger 15 through an outlet 18. The valve member is moved to an open position by an operation piston 44. One end of a cylinder 40 housing the operation piston is connected to a low-pressure fuel source 35 by a check valve 37, and the same end of the cylinder is connected to a high-pressure fuel source by a control valve 26 when the flowing-out of fuel is requested. Linked with a piston 44 is a balanced piston 46, and these two pistons portion a fuel passage from one end of the cylinder 46 to the hole 14 to assure the complete filling of the hole with fuel before a next fuel supply passed through the outlet.
