In this fuel injection method, a lower fuel pressure is always generated locally and individually for each of injectors 8 during injecting, by carrying out a pressure reducing control of a higher fuel pressure, and the pressure reducing control is made active or non-active via one directional control valve. In this fuel injection system, one local pressure reducing control unit 28 is provided for each of the injector 8 for generating the lower fuel pressure from the higher fuel pressure in a dissipation manner. Each pressure reduction unit 28 has one directional control valve 9 for making the pressure reducing control to be made active or non-active.
