A needle 4 has four needle stoppers 33 at the lower end of a shaft portion 4b, while a body 3 has a conical hole whose maximum outer diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of a storage hole, where there is a level difference between the storage hole and the conical hole. Thus, the lower end faces of the needle stoppers 33 can abut on the level difference on the side of the body 3 in the axial direction. Their abutting portions are provided as a body abutting portion 35 and a needle abutting portion 36. In this construction, during valve closing operation of the needle 4, right after (at almost the same time when) a seat line 4e is seated on a seat face 8, the body abutting portion 35 of the needle 4 abuts on the needle abutting portion 36 of the body 3. As a result, the settlement of the needle 4 is suppressed to reduce the bearing pressure of a seat portion 12 and so to reduce the wear of the seat.
