Abstract:

To suppress the fluctuation of a totaled fuel injection rate in good accuracy in association with advance of abrasion of a face cam and the like while suppressing the elimination of the effective stroke rate of a plunger.

A fuel injection pump is provided with a pre-stroke groove 31 which is formed on the outer peripheral surface of a plunger 8 so as to release fuel discharged from a plunger high pressure chamber 4 at the time of starting of forcibly feeding into an intake port 6, and an injection ratio regulating means for regulating an injection ratio so as to have a change point in the vicinity of a maximum injection rate in the characteristic of the fuel injection rate in relation to a timing when a cut off port 5 is opened by a control sleeve 16.
