To provide a fuel injection pump capable of improving strength with a simple structure and in low costs without enlarging a constitution, and improving fuel injection pressure.
A flat surface part 50 is formed on a connecting part 17 of an inner wall surface 10a of a pump housing 10 for forming a fuel pressurizing chamber 13 and an inner wall surface of a fuel intake passage 14 and an inner wall surface of a fuel delivery passage 15, and thereby, stress concentrated to an upper cross point 171 and a lower cross point 172 of the connecting part 17 is dispersed on a circumference of the connecting part 17. It is thus possible to improve strength of the fuel injection pump and it is also possible to increase fuel injection pressure. Since strength of the fuel injection pump is improved without increasing the wall thickness of the pump housing 10, the constitution of the fuel injection pump is not enlarged.
