To provide a fuel injection pump of low-cost structure which reduces uneven fuel injection timing in an internal combustion engine irrespective of individual difference between fuel injection pumps.
The fuel injection pump 1 is provided with; an injection quantity controller Q for controlling injection quantity by centrifugal force that occurs responsive to the rotation of the internal combustion engine; a TCV 70 for controlling the timing of starting forced feeding of fuel responsive to the reciprocation of a plunger 5, to a fuel injection valve 32, by varying the differential pressure between a high-pressure chamber 52 and a low-pressure chamber 53 of an incorporated hydraulic timer 50; and an ECU 90 for open control of the TCV 70. The ECU 90 changes a driving rate signal outputted to the TCV 70, in accordance with a target injection timing. Specifically, the deviation between an actual injection timing and the target injection timing in terms of a driving rate is measured in the process of performance check during manufacture of the fuel injection pump, and the drive rate is corrected based on the deviation.
