Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump in a simple structure capable of preventing seizure of a driving shaft and adopting high pressure to discharged fuel.
SOLUTION: The fuel discharged from a feed pump 50 is fed to a pressure chamber 30 via a metering valve 70 and a part of the discharged fuel is fed to a housing chamber 24 for housing a driving means for driving a plunger 20 after passing through between the driving shaft 15 and a bush 40 for supporting the driving shaft 15. As a fuel groove 41 is formed on an inner wall of the bush 40, the fuel running from the feed pump 50 to the housing chamber 24 via the fuel groove 41 provides lubrication between an outer wall of the driving shaft 15 and the inner wall of the bush 40. As the fuel can be fed to the housing chamber 24 without forming a fuel passage at a housing for forming the housing chamber 24, the structure of the fuel injection pump can be simplified and the lubrication between the driving shaft 15 and the bush 40 can be successfully provided.
