Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump satisfactorily suppressing the seating sound of a coupling.
SOLUTION: A coupling 3 is moved in the axial direction by the reciprocating motion of a face cam 4, the coupling 3 is seated on the end section 13 a of a cup 13 when the face cam 4 is moved toward the end face 24 of a drive shaft 2, and the cup 13 prevents the coupling 3 from being seated on the end face 24. The seating sound of the coupling 3 can be suppressed from being transmitted to the drive shaft 2 by a shim 12. The generation of the seating sound of the coupling 3 can be satisfactorily suppressed. When the coupling 3 is seated, the volume of a space 23 is decreased than that before it is seated, and the collision energy of the coupling 3 can be damped. The generation of the seating sound of the coupling 3 can be further suppressed, and the generation of erosion on the end face of the coupling 3 on the cup 13 side can be prevented.
