PURPOSE: To prevent the jumping phenomenon of a cam disc and a roller by installing a plural number of coil spring with different coil length as a means of energizing the cam disc resisting against the roller.
CONSTITUTION: Pressure is applied to fuel by having a plunger 9 interlocked with a cam disc 7 reciprocated. A pair of energizing means 15a, 15b are installed on the cam disc side of a pump room 4 in which the plunger 9 makes its reciprocating movements. A plural number of coil spring 17, 18 with different coil length are arranged on each energizing means 15a, 15b. The cross section of coil wire used for the coil springs 17, 18 is shaped oval. Energizing force is strengthened by stages in accordance with the amount of shift of the cam disc 7, which makes it possible to prevent the jumping phenomenon of the cam disc and a roller and to miniaturize the device.
