PURPOSE: To eliminate the burning of a rotor and to enhance its reliability by installing, on a low pressure fuel passage, a valve which reduces or prevents pressure waves generating from a high pressure fuel passage and acting on a feed pump side at the time of overflow.
CONSTITUTION: When the rotor 1b of a feed pump 1 rotates with the revolution of an engine, low pressure fuel is discharged from a discharge opening 1e and supplied to a gallery 5 through a fuel passage 2, a check valve V1. As the fuel injection period expires, a solenoid overflow valve 19 is opened to overflow fuel into the gallery 5 and to terminate fuel injection. Due to the overflow, a pressure wave of high pressure fuel is generated in the gallery 5. The pressure wave is shut off by the check valve V1 and prevented from reaching the feed pump 1, so that the burning of the rotor 1b is eliminated to enhance its reliability.
