PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration due to lack of main injection at the time of high speed rotation while preventing generation of operational noise by oil impulse at the time of closing a spill valve, and shorten a time interval between the auxiliary injection and the main injection of pilot injection, at the time of low speed rotation of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel in a pressure chamber 15 compressed to a high pressure by movement to the right of a plunger 6 is supplied from a distribution passage 21 to the injection valve 20 of each cylinder, but timings of starting/finishing of injection are controlled, and occasionally partial high pressure fuel is forced to overflow from the pressure chamber 15 to a low pressure chamber 18 via a passage 44, a spill valve 24, a spring chamber 40, and a low pressure passage 41 for performing pilot injection. A throttle valve 47 which has a throttle hole 51 of a small diameter is provided in the passage 44, and resistance is given to the high pressure fuel which overflows so as to soften oil impulse at the time of low speed rotation, but deterioration due to lack of injection is prevented by opening the valve at the time of high rotation.
