Abstract:

To provide a fuel injection system for an engine, promoting vaporization of fuel to be injected and reducing HC emissions during cold start of an engine, without remarkably enlarging an installation.

This fuel injection system for the engine includes: an intake port injector 40 provided for each intake port 5 of a multi-cylinder engine; a collecting portion injector 20 provided in a surge tank 12 upstream of each intake port 5; and a heat retaining means keeping the collecting portion injector warm. The heat retaining means has a heat storage material 22 arranged around the collecting portion injector 20, and a cooling water passage 28 leading engine cooling water to the heat storage material 22.
