PURPOSE: To prevent driving resposiveness at time of transition to cycle injection from getting worse, by compensating and controlling the extent of fuel injection so as to perform normal injection as long as the specified period at the time of transition from a reduced-speed driving area to a cycle injection area.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection device D is controlled by a fuel injection controlling device C on the basis of each judged result of a reduced-speed driving judging device A and a driving load judging device B. That is to say, when it is judged to be the specified light load driving area, fuel injection and no injection are carried out at the specified interval so as to cause a combustion cycle and a rest cycle to be repeated at the specified period. And, when it is judged to be a reduced-speed driving area, fuel supply is stopped and thereby rest driving takes place. In this constitution, at time of transition from the reduced-speed driving area to a cycle injection area, there is additionally provided with a fuel injection compensating device E which performs normal injection as long as the specified period. With this constitution, driving responsiveness at time of transition to the cycle injection is prevented from getting worse.
