Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the acceleration of vaporization by starting the fuel injection almost synchronously with the ending of intake stroke for each cylinder so as to bring the injected alcohol contained fuel contact with a heating for a long time.

CONSTITUTION: In an ECU 38, the crank angle is read on the basis of the signal from a crank angle sensor 36, and whether or not the intake stroke of the relevant cylinder has been completed is discriminated by this crank angle. Herein, when it is discriminated that the intake stroke has been completed and the compression stroke is being commenced, a driving circuit is operated to start supplying current to a fuel injection valve 30 so as to start fuel injection. While the injected alcohol fuel comes in contact with a heating heater 40 provided in an intake pipe 28, since the relevant cylinder is in the beginning of compression stroke at the time, fuel is not taken in the interior of a combustion chamber 12, and is heated by the heating heater 40 to be sufficiently vaporized until the subsequent intake stroke starts.
