Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure high precision control of injection timing without operation delay in an internal combustion engine as well as to gain the degree of freedom in setting an injection time lead-angle characteristic by a method wherein a pressure which changes by time is applied to a fuel injection valve to actuate.

CONSTITUTION: A high pressure fuel passage 2 through which a pressure fuel pressurized for a fixed injection pressure is supplied, a low-pressure fuel passage 3 through which a pressure fuel of which the pressure changes by time in accordance with an engine crank angle, and a fuel injection orifice 4 are incorporated in an outer fixation case 1. An injection valve 6 is moved up and down via an armature 9 by means of a solenoid 8 to open/close the injection orifice 4. Suppose here that a downward force applied on the injection valve 6 is PO and its upward force is PU. With the help of control of a magnetomotive force of solenoid 8, when the solenoid 8 is not excited the injection valve 6 is fully opened at a fixed time in such a way that PO is less than PU.
