A valve element 9 guided movably in the axial direction in a valve main body 1, is loaded in the closing direction by a valve spring 27 so that an injection opening 15 is controlled to be opened/closed, and a piezoelectric stack 23 by which the length of a piezoelectric adjusting member can be changed is connected to the end of the valve element 9. Hereupon, a fastening device 37 is arranged on the piezoelectric adjusting member, fixes the end of the piezoelectric stack 23 on the side reverse to the valve element 9 in a predetermined position in the axial direction of the piezoelectric stack 23 during the injection stage of a fuel injection valve, and compensates a play in the axial direction of the piezoelectric stack 23 when injection is interrupted.
