To provide a fuel injection valve contributive to productivity by accurately, easily and quickly assembling a pressure control valve 39 with no malfunction of components and no trouble of injection property while eliminating the possibility of reverse or oblique assembly of a pressure control valve 39 in error.

The pressure control valve 39 has a spherical portion 39c formed to be slidable on an abutting face 38b of a valve element chamber 38 and approximately symmetrical to flat portions 39a, 39b. Even when the pressure control valve 39 is mounted on an orifice plate 20a and a needle 17 reversely or obliquely during assembly, it is regularly assembled on an out orifice 40 in an approachable/separative manner with one of the flat portions 39a, 39b serving as a seat surface to face the orifice plate 20a without fail, resulting in no erroneous assembly.
